Hypnotherapy
Changing patterns that logic alone hasn’t been able to shift.
Some patterns don’t change simply because we understand them.
Many people know exactly what they would like to do differently — sleep better, stop a habit, feel calmer, or respond differently under stress — yet the same responses keep repeating.
Hypnotherapy works with the part of the mind where those automatic responses are learned and stored.
By using focused attention and suggestion, hypnosis can help interrupt patterns that have been difficult to change through willpower or insight alone.
What Hypnosis Actually Is
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention.
People enter similar states every day — when absorbed in a book, driving on autopilot, or becoming deeply focused on a task.
In a therapeutic setting, that natural focus allows the mind to become more receptive to useful suggestions and new responses.
Clients remain aware and in control throughout the process. Hypnosis is not something that is “done to you.” It is a collaborative process that helps the mind adopt new patterns more easily.
Training and Experience
My work with hypnosis draws from clinical training connected to the Milton H. Erickson Foundation and advanced training with Dr. Jeffrey Zeig.
In addition to clinical training, I have spent many years studying hypnosis in practical settings, including educational demonstrations and workshops where hypnosis is observed and practiced in real interactions.
This broader experience has helped me develop a clear understanding of how suggestion works in everyday situations and how it can be applied responsibly in therapeutic work.
Issues People Often Address with Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis can be helpful for a wide range of recurring patterns, including:
- unconscious habits that feel difficult to control
- anxiety and stress responses
- sleep disturbances and insomnia
- weight management patterns
- confidence and self-esteem
- chronic pain responses
- recurring dreams or persistent mental loops
Hypnosis is not a magic solution, but for many people it becomes a powerful way of shifting patterns that have been resistant to change.
The Hypnotherapy Process
Each hypnotherapy session is 90 minutes in length.
Because hypnosis works differently for each person, the work begins with a structured three-session process rather than a single appointment.
These sessions allow us to:
- understand the pattern you want to change
- explore how hypnosis works for you specifically
- begin establishing new responses through focused suggestion
Approaching hypnosis this way allows the work to be explored thoughtfully rather than treated as a one-session experiment.
Continuing the Work
After the initial three sessions, people typically choose one of two paths.
Some continue with additional hypnotherapy sessions if they find the work helpful and wish to deepen the process.
Others transition to self-hypnosis, using a personalized recording created specifically for them.
These recordings are developed only after working together in session, once I understand the patterns and suggestions that will be most effective for you.
